Klein Grid

Taking the Kinsey Scale a step forward: the Klein Grid. It's a measure of sexuality used in psychology, I understand, which Mme. Curie mentioned in a recent post.

I completed a self-administered version of it at www.kleingridonline.com. Some of the questions weren't exactly applicable to me (such as sexual history), but I did the best I could. Also tricky was fairly evaluating the past (since I've only been out to myself for a short while) and my ideal future (since I'm really unsure about that). But I think it's a fairly helpful tool overall. It basically confirms what I've been feeling lately--that I need to accept my homosexuality and move on with things.

Interesting. I'm going to take it and see what I get.

I like the graphic! That's very nice! Acceptance to oneself is often the most difficult step, I know it has been for me. I envy you for being able to accept your homosexuality this early, not that the road ahead will be easy, but at least the path will be illuminated somewhat by virtue of the fact that you have your eyes open.

DD, your results would, I'm sure, be quite interesting. I suppose it can't really tell you what you don't already know, but for me it helps to clarify and quantify, to some extent.

M. Curie, I'm glad you like this--I have to say it was your wife who led me to it (she linked to the Wiki article which linked to the site). As for the what lies ahead, I regard it with hope and trepidation. I am fortunate to be dealing with this at my age; however, I fear I have a ways to go towards fully accepting myself. I can recognize that I'm gay, but I have yet to say the actual words to another human being! It seems self-acceptance--acceptance in general, really--is difficult for you, me...and most all of us, probably.

I tried this... On the physical scale, I'm way crunched up over as far to the right as possible. On the emotional scale I'm a bit less homo in the present than in the past... Very interesting.
